UAM Tillers won the first edition of Hifl football league
The University of Agriculture, Makurdi football team known as UAM Tillers won the first edition of the Hifl football league at the Agege township stadium, Lagos.
The final match was between their University counterpart from Calabar, the Malabites. The game progressed into a penalty shootout and ended in favour of the UAM Tillers 5 – 4 on penalties.
Ebuka David of the Tillers finished the league as the highest goal scorer after leading his team to claim the trophy on Saturday evening in Lagos.

Meanwhile, OAU Giants finished 3rd of the league behind UNICAL Malabites after defeating UNILORIN Warriors 3 goals to 1.
The highest goal scorer of the league and other awardees will be recognized at the Elite award taking place on Sunday, 4th of November, 2018.
The Higher Institution Football League (Hifl) is an initiative of PACE sport and entertainment in partnership with Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA), National University Commission (NUC) and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)
The maiden edition of the game was sponsored by Stanbic IBTC, TomTom while the media partners include Super Sport, Brila FM, Complete Sport and Goal.com
