Total Afcon: Nigeria, Tunisia for Third Place, Senegal, Algeria Final

The semi final match of the Total Afcon played during the weekend saw Algeria defeat Nigeria 2 goals to 1 after a free kick was carefully converted to a goal by Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerians got the first goal of the match through an own goal from Ekong. Odion Ighalo leveled the match after a penalty kick was awarded to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

It was however a disappointment for the Super Eagles of Nigeria when a late strike from the Algerians skipper destroyed their hope of reaching the final.

In other semi final match played earlier, the Senegalese advanced to the finals beating Tunisia 1 – 0. Both sides recorded a penalty loss but an own goal from Bronn gave the Senegalese a long awaited moment at the African Cup Nations final.
