In a recent update coming from the telco giant in Africa, it was reported that MTN has rebranded or repackaged the popular “Project Fame” into “MTN Yellow Star”.

The former was dropped without any known reason from the company. The MTN project fame is a talent hunt project targeted at musicians/entertainers in Africa who are looking for a platfrom to showcase their singing ability.

The MTN project fame discovered some of the notable Nigerian music stars like Iyanya, Chidinma, Ayoola, Monica Ogah etc

In order to continue the search for the next big stars in the music industry in Nigeria, the telecommunication giants introduced “Yello Star NG.”

According to a statement on the official website, it states:

At MTN Nigeria, we believe every hidden star and talent deserves a chance to shine bright. We appreciate the fact that there are huge musical talents hidden in every part of the country, and most times, these talents are, at best, under-developed or out rightly allowed to die because they are not being harnessed. The challenge, we have discovered, is that these talents are not given the opportunity to showcase themselves. This is partly due to the fact that many producers lack the wherewithal/resources to go into the nooks and crannies of the country in search of these talents. This is the prime offering of this show – to go in search of these talents that are hitherto, lying wasted or under-utilized.

Hence, the introduction of the MTN Yello Star is to help discover new talent in Nigeria and propel them into greatness.
